Tampa is a United States city on the west coast of the state of Florida. It serves as the county seat of Hillsborough County. According to the 2009 estimates, the city's population had grown to 343,890, making it the 53rd largest city in the United States. it is the third-largest city in Florida, behind Jacksonville and Miami.

Tampa is a part of the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater metropolitan area, most commonly referred to as the "Tampa Bay area". 4 million residents in its metro area, making it the second-largest metropolitan statistical area (MSA) in the state behind Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach, the third-largest in the Southeastern United States, and the twelfth largest DMA Market in the United States.
